CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION, INC.

Thank you for visiting our blog on WordPress. Childhood Cancer Foundation has changed our name, but we are still the only childhood cancer charity in Volusia County. There are no treatment centers in Volusia for children who get the diagnosis of childhood cancer. Parents and sometimes whole families need to move to another location to seek treatment. This is a tremendous strain on the budgets; especially in these difficult economic times. Often mother-father or both must quit their jobs to care for their child.

Of course things can go wrong. Sometimes a family will lose their home, have their electricity cut off, or run out of money for food and gas. In many cases the family car breaks down, the tires go flat or other children need special attention.

We at Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. do all we can to help families overcome these and many other problems. We serve every child we accept until a cure or remission is found. If the disease returns we step in again to help and support the family. We provide restaurant cards, paid credit cards, gift cards, cash donations and we often help with final services when the battle to overcome cancer is lost.

While the child is in treatment we organize fundraisers, end-of-chemo parties, Crazy Hat parties, Pizza parties, and events to bring our patients together for comfort and support. We have generous donors who plan great events to make life fun for our kids, such as: shopping sprees, Christmas parties, outdoor 5K runs, Poker Runs, Fashion Shows, and our annual Red White and Blue Gala.
